The Deschutes River has great fishing! Trout can be caught year round and steelhead are in the river from August through November. During Spring and Fall you'll find the river inviting with solitude, warm sunny days and wonderful fishing. It is hard to describe the joy of having a steelhead strike a fly or lure and the fun of reeling in such a beautiful fish. Every once in a while the trout go into a feeding frenzy! When you're fishing at one of these times life is pure JOY!

All Star offers three options for fishing the Deschutes, each with different levels of service and cost:

Fishing Safaris

Our Fishing Safaris are designed to allow you to maximize your time on the water while we take care of the details in camp. You row your own raft to the fishing locations of your choice. Having access to both sides of the river opens up a new world of opportunity. We take care of cooking, cleaning and camp so you get to maximize your time fishing early in the morning and late in the day. Our Fishing Safari gives you a chance to catch more fish by allowing you to spend more time fishing!

$350.00 per person
Rafts are 13' or 14' self bailing Rikens. Day one includes rowing instruction. Class III rapids are scouted and run as a group. Trip dates are Sunday through Wednesday.
Trout: (Warm Springs to Maupin) April through October
Steelhead: (Buck Hollow to Heritage Landing) August through October
Other dates or number of days on the river are available on request.

If you want complete freedom for your fishing vacation rent rafts and do a self guided trip. We are happy to deliver and pick up boats and equipment at locations from Warm Springs to Heritage Landing. There are 100 miles of water available for trips ranging in length from one day to two weeks!

Fishing Guide Service

Add a guide to your Fishing Safari. Fishing with one of our experienced guides will ensure that if the fish are biting you'll be in the right place with the right gear at the right time to have a lot of fun! We advise one guide for each two to three fishermen. The cost is $250.00/guide per day added to the cost of the fishing safari.
