We do our Kayak instruction through Alder Creek Kayak and Canoe. Classes happen out of our stores in Portland or Bend, Oregon.

Inflatable and Sit-on-top Kayaks

Open yourself to a new world of adventure this year. Learn to paddle a whitewater kayak. Whatever fits your schedule, you can choose from one to eight days of instruction in which our competent instructors show you a great time and teach as much as you can absorb. All equipment is provided. Classes run March through October. Call for dates.

Sit on Top Kayak Class; Class III

Want a little more excitement than a raft but not as much as a decked kayak? Check out our Torrent sit on top kayaks! They're wider and more stable than a decked kayak but more maneuverable and a wetter ride than you get in a raft. We teach as well as lead on these trips. Paddle strokes, boat control, safety procedures, righting an overturned craft and swimming in white water are just some of the topics covered. Included in the price of the class is all necessary equipment including wet suits on cool days, shuttle return to your car, lunch and our skilled instructors.
